My Approach

I know from experience that, in family law disputes, anger and bitterness can often make it difficult for clients to make good, long-term decisions that are in their best interests. In child custody and visitation disputes, I help parents meet in the middle and find ways to meet the needs of their children while protecting their rights as parents.

My Divorce and Family Law Practice

I work with clients at all stages of a divorce, from the initial filing, through negotiated settlement and mediation, to post-judgment requests for enforcement or modification of an existing order. I handle all matters related to or arising out of a divorce, including:

• Child custody and visitation. I will help you secure custody and visitation arrangements that are in the best interests of your children, taking into consideration their health, education and social needs. At the same time, I will work to protect and foster your relationship as a parent.
• Child support. I will work with you to make certain that your child support calculations are in compliance with state guidelines and properly consider all income of both parties.
• Alimony or spousal support. I will help you determine whether alimony is warranted and, if so, the appropriate amount, frequency and duration of payments.
• Property division. I will work with you to secure the equitable distributionof marital debts and assets, including real property, investments, retirement funds and business assets.
• Child abuse and neglect. I handle cases involving the Administration for Children's Services (ACS), including ordinary and derivative neglect cases, sex offenses and orders for protection.
• Domestic violence. I will assist you in obtaining an order for protection against your spouse if you have been a victim of domestic violence. I also help individuals in defending against those wrongfully accused of domestic violence.
• Juvenile offenses. I represent minors who have committed crimes, including assault, truancy, theft and possession of drugs and alcohol.

I also work with clients in relocation matters, legal separations, paternity actions and guardianship proceedings.
