Born in Hempstead, Grew up in Lynbrook, Graduated from Malverne High School, Graduated in 1985 from New York University (NYU) with a B.A. in Political Science. Graduated in 1988 from Hofstra Law School (JD) during college, interned with NYS Legislature (1984) during law school, I interned in the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office and during my final year - worked for the Community Law Assistance Corp / Family Law Clinic of Hofstra Law School, where as a 3
rd year law student tried and won a custody/visitation case in Suffolk County Family Court. Received Citation for Excellence in Community Law Service in 1988 from Hofstra Law School.
I started my law career as a member of the Legal Aid Society of New York, working in the Criminal Law Division. I began private practice in 1991 and have been practicing solo since 1996.
From 1996 through 2004 I also worked as an Administrative Law Judge for the Parking Violations Bureau of the City of New York.
I take my commitment to doing pro bono work seriously. I have been taking (some) referrals from the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Queens County Bar Association, assisting people with divorces.
